To create art...
...is not only important to me as a way of establishing an eternal legacy. Art is paramount to me as a vehicle of joy and happiness, not just for myself, but most importantly for those who get to enjoy the art I love to create.
Thanks for the business Macca!
Hopefully my painting will transport you back to Ireland each and every time you look at it! Acrylic on canvas.

Above: Blacklerscape's second oil painting. The doorway is from a photo taken in Rome, Italy. Instead of the boring boarded up window in the back, through an act of artistic catharsis a much more asthetically pleasing image emerged.

gifted to my father, June 2016.

Above: This painting is of a Horseshoe Bay Beach just outside of Bowen, Queensland Australia. To good friends of mine Luca and Suan used to spend their spare time here when they worked in the area, therefore I felt it was appropriate to paint this as a wedding gift to commemorate their union Mar.25/17
All the best to your happy and fruitful future. To make the gift extra special I hand delivered it from Vancouver, Canada to Varese, Italy.

On July.21/17 our supervisor in the office Kari retired after 35 years. To commemorate her milestone with a gift, a few of us created a custom vertical standing 7 bottle wine rack which was accompanied by an Everything Wine gift card funded by the rest of the department. As you can see from the larger photo I was given the opportunity to paint a landscape on one side while my coworker Marie completed the other which depicts the bottle seen in the smaller image, her partner completed the woodwork and assembly. Happy retirement Kari!

In 2013 I conducted a research project at Burning man for my Communications honours degree through Simon Fraser University. As gifting is one of the principals of Burning Man I decided to put my artistic ability to work and paint images of Burning Man found online. A friend Sid generously created 100 limited edition prints of each postcard for me to distribute at the festival. Turns out Burning Man has a temporary airport for the week long event and people were able to mail the postcards stamped with the Burning Man stamp.

Above: What you see here is a golf cart dressed up as man's head. Upon successfully obtaining a camping spot at Burning Man I was made aware that the person whose mutant vehicle I had painted was camping just behind me, resulting in a new friendship being made, and a ride in the same vehicle I had painted!
